BACKGROUND
I’m a garden and landscape designer based in Teddington, South West London, working with private clients, architects and interior designers across Richmond, East Sheen, Twickenham, London, Surrey and the South of England. I bring together each client’s wish list, the character of the site and the architecture or existing features to create gardens and landscapes that feel distinctive, coherent and right for the people who use them.
Before establishing my own practice, I had a 20-year career in branding and design and spent four years as Senior Designer at Tom Massey Studio, working across private and public projects and contributing to four RHS Chelsea gold medal-winning gardens.
I’m passionate not only about design and improving the way people live, but also about working closely with clients and collaborators through a process that is organised, practical and transparent. My aim is to make the journey enjoyable while creating gardens that are beautiful, practical to build and enjoyable to live with.
I’m guided by two principles: Spatial Clarity and Wild Beauty. Spatial Clarity helps me create gardens where the bones of the space work well — generous in their sense of space, intuitive to use and easy to move through. Strong structure, thoughtful organisation and carefully considered details provide the framework for Wild Beauty — expressive planting, seasonal change and biodiversity.
I hold a Diploma in Garden Design and a Certificate in Garden Construction from the London College of Garden Design, both awarded with Distinction. My work has also received Winner and Highly Commended awards from the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers. I’m continuing to develop my planting practice through further study, including training with Tom Stuart-Smith and his team at Serge Hill.
