Closest to the house — and highly visible from the kitchen and dining spaces — the garden is intentionally ordered and contained. Mediterranean planting in a pale, sun-washed palette frames the terrace, stepping down through planted banks to the lawn. This front half is designed to be more tended and hands-on, concentrating gardening effort where it will be most enjoyed.
Beyond an archway, the garden loosens and becomes more immersive. A sawn boulder stepping-stone path leads into a wilder space for exploration, where fruit trees and berry bushes encourage foraging. Here, the palette deepens: rusted Corten steel, fire, grasses and hot autumnal planting gather around a circular fire-pit, creating a secluded retreat. This deliberate shift from tended to untamed allows parts of the garden to be managed lightly, evolving over time while offering a sense of discovery and escape.

The structure of the garden is now in place, with planting set to fill out and mature through the coming growing season. Further photographs to follow.
