A former car park in Washington DC reimagined as a biodiverse canteen garden for staff dining, breaks and informal gatherings. Pollinator-inspired geometry creates a unifying design language throughout, with custom yellow powder-coated steel seating and timber benches shaping places to pause, meet and rest among new trees and layered planting.
The planting scheme uses heat-tolerant native species, including repeated multi-stem Magnolia virginiana to anchor the garden and provide year-round structure and seasonal interest.
